The Photos I Promised...

Here are the lovely update photos that I said I would post. I'm sorry that it's taken me so long, my laptop monitor isn't exactly functioning anymore. But, without further ado, here are the kittens with their new family (much thanks to Ella and Emerson) during the holidays. Oh, and Emerson gave the little ones new names (I quite like them): Lucy (formerly Lizzie) and Lola (formerly Penny).

Looks like a great match to me. :)

Update!

So, I just got an email from Ella (the kitten's new mom ) and her daughter. They are doing great! As soon as I hear back with permission, I'll put the pictures up.

Ava is doing wonderfully visiting my parents with me. In fact, she's taken over the upstairs. Here are our dejected boy kitties:

Godfrey (my once bottle-baby cat, who will eventually come with me)

Oedipus, Eddie for short (my mom's flamboyant Siamese [la-low!])

Ava, on the other hand is happy as a clam. I hope the group relations get better...

Here are some memories of the kitten's Thanksgiving visit:

Success!

The babies were adopted! Together!
Andrea and I carried them around PetSmart because there weren't any cages open.
Within an hour they were adopted.

Happy day.

Yep, I'm a Sucker...

So, my fiancé and I decided to adopt Ava. I know, I know. But, unbeknownst to all of you (is there even anyone out there?) in cyber land, Ian and I intended to adopt a cat anyway. We were going to do it in the fall, after we get married. But, we fell for Ava. She has a couple of quirks that really did us in.

Don't forget, the kids will be at PetSmart starting tomorrow. They're great girls, so if you live in the Tacoma area, go check them out. You can still email me for more info if you'd like.

My housemates and I will continue fostering in January. As college students, the Holiday season is pretty chaotic, so we'll wait until things settle down. But as of mid-January, we'll be back in full swing.

And, for the record, we won't be adopting any more fosters. Ian and I have our two kitties (the limit) for when we move in together: Ava, who will continue to live with me, and Godfrey, a cat that I raised from two weeks old on a bottle after his mom died. He lives with my mom right now because I didn't think it made sense to disrupt his life more than necessary. So, we'll have two furry friends coming with us when we move in together at the end of summer.

There won't be any cute photos of babies for awhile, but I'll take some photos of the animals around my parent's house and post them (my mom has an awesome camera). There's a lot of variety there because they live on a horse farm. Maybe we'll get snow? Hopefully, that will satiate your needs for a few weeks.

WE'RE (almost) READY!

The little ones just got weighed this morning. Both of them are right around 2 1/2 pounds so they go in for spay surgery on Thursday. They've been micro-chipped, vaccinated and wormed, so, as of Saturday they are ready for forever homes!

So, in light of they're availability, I thought I'd let them tell you more about themselves.

Hi! I'm Lizzie Crusoe!

  • My three main loves in life are boxes, dangling things and cuddling.
  • I'm not too fond of being by myself. If I come live with you, my sister needs to come, too.
  • I'm really brave and I love to climb, so I've gotten myself into trouble a couple of times.
  • My face markings are the opposite of my mama's and I like to think that my light orange markings look like leopard spots.
  • I'm a little quirky. People noses fascinate me! I like to touch them with my paw or reach out my nose to give you a kiss.
  • I'm a great house kitty and I'd make a wonderful addition to your family (with my sis' of course).

Hi! I'm Penny Crusoe!

  • I love cuddling, eating, and chasing and playing with Lizzie.
  • I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat, but my sister helps me be brave.
  • I love mom's tail! And mine, too, for that matter. It's like a toy that's always there.
  • I'm a pretty little girl. I guess I'm turning into a blue point, but my white markings on my face and back paw make me even cuter!
  • I love attention. I'll rub on your legs just like a big kitty!
  • I'm a wonderful lap kitty. I'm yin to Lizzie's yang and we make a great team!

Hi! I'm Ava Crusoe!

  • I enjoy sleeping, cuddling, and observing everything. I play a little, too. But, I mostly leave that to the kids.
  • I really like people, but, at first I'm a little shy. Once I get warmed up to you, we'll be best friends. I especially like hanging out in the kitchen while you're cooking.
  • I used to be afraid of windows, but since I've been here I've learned to like watching the cars and people go by.
  • My markings are gorgeous. I'm black with different shades of orange. Some of my orange even has stripes in it!
  • I'm a great house kitty. I've got good manners and I'm sweet and friendly. I'll even greet you at the door.

We've had a wonderful time with these guys. I'd like to see them adopted in the next couple of days. So, if you have any questions or would like to adopt, be sure to contact me. Here are some more photos, just for fun:
